STOP STIFLING DEMOCRACY!

ENTER INTO DIALOGUE WITH YOUTH TO SECURE  INDIA’S FUTURE!

Organised by

National Alliance of People's Movements

Coalition for Environmental Justice in India

People's Union for Civil Liberties

Time: Friday, Feb 19, 2021 03:30 PM IST

The shocking manner in which Disha Ravi has been arrested has raised innumerable questions about the security of youth activists in particular and just about anyone who exercises their democratic Right to Express, which includes the Right to Dissent. In a landscape where dissent with the State is disturbingly frequently considered as seditious, we invite you to join us in this Press Conference where we will address our issues and concerns.

The press conference will be addressed by Kavita Srivastava, Nagraj Adve, Ram Wangkheirakpam, Medha Patkar, Sandeep Pandey, TM Krishna, Meera Sanghamitra, Abhilasha Singh, Ashish Kothari, Nityanand Jayaraman, Leo Saldanha, V. Suresh, Vinay Sreenivasa, Ulka Mahajan, representing a wide cross-section of society and from across India.

The Press Conference will be streamed live on: https://www.facebook.com/NAPMindia
