Beautiful photographs of nature by renowned Russian photographer Vadim Gippenreiter

The main subject is Russian nature. During his long life, the photographer has travelled the length and breadth of the country, from the volcanoes of Kamchatka to the landscapes of Central Russia. "I shoot what's close to me, what I have personal feelings for: pristine nature with no telegraph poles or factory chimneys. I aspire to places where cars cannot go" 

Moscow is presently hosting a solo exhibition by renowned Russian photographer Vadim Gippenreiter. This year, he turned 97. Over the past 60 years, he has taken more than 50,000 color slides. RBTH presents the finest. // Photo: The caldera of Uzon Volcano, Kamchatka, 1980.
