Kashmiri Pandit Sangarash Samiti Fast-unto-Death enters day 7

NB: Sanjay Tickoo is one of the bravest members of civil society in India and has been raising his voice against the injustice and negligence suffered by Pandits in the Kashmir Valley for over two decades. Despite the terrible hardships that his community has experienced, he never allowed any communal bitterness to enter his soul. It is a tragedy that this humble family man has had to take recourse to a hunger strike to make the deaf hear. All those who care about democracy and justice should raise their voices and see to it that he can end his hunger strike with dignity. Salaam my friend. Dilip

Fast-unto-Death against Disaster Management Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRR & R) Department, UT of JK at Ganesh Mandir, Ganpatyaar, Habba Kadal, Srinagar from 20.09.2020. Fast-unto-Death enters day 7. Medical Condition of Shri. Sanjay K. Tickoo, President, KPSS: Physical Weakness, Immune system very very low, B.P. Fluctuating

Shri. Sandeep Koul also joined President, KPSS from 24.09.2020 for Fast-Unto-Death

Medical Condition of Shri. Sandeep Koul - Stable

Yesterday Shri. Nasir Aslam Wani, Provincial President, National Conference visited Shri Sidhi Vinayak Ganesh Mandir, Ganpatyaar, Habba Kadal, Srinagar and met Shri. Sanjay K. Tickoo, President, KPSS and expressed solidarity with the Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandit / Kashmiri Hindu Community and extended support to the demands which KPSS has submitted to the Government to implement in a time-bound manner. During the meeting Shri. Dr. Farooq Abdullah, MP (Patron National Conference) also had a telephonic conversation with President, KPSS who assured that all sort of help will be extended to the protesting community.

Later, during the day Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Shri. Hanief Balqi also visited the venue and took stock of the situation and assured that the District Administration will take necessary steps to project the pain and agony faced by the Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandit / Kashmiri Hindu Community living in Kashmir Valley before the concerned higher authorities.

It is again reiterated that officers and officials of DMRR & R have hijacked the entire relief and rehabilitation of Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandits / Kashmiri Hindus under some vicious and sadistic agenda and are misleading their superiors and media. Despite Two Parliamentary Standing Committees recommendations, three speaking orders/judgments from Hon’ble High Court in different petitions and two recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs mean nothing to DMRR & R. In order to save themselves from inquiry they have started to manufacture stories and manipulate facts. Massive malpractices are going in the DMRR&R Department and every officer and officials misuse his official position for some vested interests.

From the past more than two years, the officers and officials of the DMRR&R Department come up with excuses and delaying tactics to sabotage the recommendations and directions of the higher authorities. It is unfortunate that morally corrupt and incompetent officers and officials are holding a position in such an important and sensitive department. These officers are just opposite to what the name of the department implies. These officers and officials are hawks who feed themselves on prey rather than helping the people in distress and pain.

Charter of Demands:

1) KPSS demand Vigilance inquiry against the officers/officials of the Relief Department for deliberately stalling and sabotaging Relief and Rehabilitation of Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandits – Kashmiri Hindus living in Kashmir Valley and misusing their official positions to harm Kashmiri Pandits - Kashmiri Hindus living in Kashmir Valley.

2) Implementation of Hon’ble High Court directions and recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding Jobs to the unemployed educated Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu youths.
