Do our leaders want to certify political assassination?

Once crime was as solitary as a cry of protest; now it is as universal as science. Yesterday it was put on trial; today it determines the law - Albert Camus

Dear leaders of the Congress and Sangh Parivar - please understand that your celebration of V.D. Savarkar is a certification of political assassination.  Do you approve of political assassination when indulged in by Maoists and jehadi militants? I should remind you that lynching belongs in the same category

Please tell us how to distinguish good political assassins from bad political assassins

All of you are celebrating the murder of Mahatma Gandhi. Shame on you

Another step toward ideological tyranny has been taken by this remark:
Manmohan Singh signals a Congress shift on Article 370 and Veer Savarkar
Days after his party had slammed the Maharashtra BJP for pledging a Bharat Ratna for Savarkar, Dr Manmohan is cited as saying: As far as Savarkarji is concerned, you would recall that Indiraji had issued a postal stamp commemorating Savarkarji. So we are not against Savarkarji - we are not in favour of the Hindutva ideology that Savarkarji patronised  Who knows? We might soon hear our leaders refer to Gandhi's murderer as Nathuramji. It had already begun in 2014, have we forgotten?

हरिशंकर परसाई - महात्मा गाँधी को चिट्ठी पहुँचे

I will add more to these remarks, but interested readers may kindly study the following materials:  Justice Jeevan Lal Kapur's opinion, expressed in the findings of the Commission of Iquiry, was this: "All these facts taken together were destructive of any theory other than the conspiracy to murder by Savarkar and his group" : p. 303. On p. 301 it is clearly stated that the conspirators had met Savarkar prior to setting out for Delhi.

"I have no quarrel with Mr. Jinnah's two-nation theory. We Hindus are a nation by ourselves and it is a historical fact that Hindus and Muslims are two nations" (Savarkar's declaration on August 15, 1943; Indian Annual Register 1943 vol 2 p 10).

In Sardar Patel's February 27, 1948 letter to Nehru (Selected Correspondence, vol 6, edited by Durga Das) he discounted the involvement of the RSS, but also held that "it was a fanatical wing of the Hindu Mahasabha directly under Savarkar that hatched the conspiracy and saw it through" - p 56. If Patel's assessment of the RSS was correct, was his belief in the guilt of their hero Savarkar also correct? In the same letter, reflecting on the problem of identifying RSS members, Patel wrote "in the case of secret organisation like the RSS which has no records of membership, no registers etc., securing of authentic information whether a person is an active member or not is a very difficult task.." (p 57)

Here are some  facts about Savarkar's and the Mahasabha's ideological sympathy with Nazism and anti-Semitism: Some information for Israelis (and the rest of us

Once more, our 'nationalist' leaders of various persuasions should realise once and for all that celebrating Savarkar is legitimising political assassination. Please stop complaining about the violence of Maoists, jehadi militants, etc. Hindutva is the Maoism of the elite

In 2013 I posted this report, with some comments:
