People's Alliance for Democracy & Secularism Condemns Dy CM of UP for intimidating DM Kasganj for doing his duty

Statement of Condemnation against Dy CM for intimidating DM Kasganj for doing his duty

PADS condemns the Dy CM of UP for intimidating DM Kasganj. Instead of taking action against the miscreants, interpreting valid observations of the senior officer on Facebook as views of a political party and promising action against it is a violation of the basic rights of officers doing their duty to uphold the democratic rights of citizens of this country and is an attempt by this outright communal and fascist government to muzzle any voice of dissent.

As incident after incident in this country shows, the blatant violation of the secular traditions of this country in the name of National sentiment is only serving to deepen alienation of people from the nation rather than unite them. Waving of the saffron flag from the gate of the District Sessions court in Udaipur , forcibly taking a flag march into minority area (where  Muslims were anyway hoisting the National flag), distributing justice in the name of the cow by open lynching in connivance with the local authorities has no connection with the Nationalism that these virulent sections purport to promote.

The recent declaration that Taj Mahal was built by Hindu rulers and the demand to convert it into a temple shows what respect they have have for truth and for the religion they claim to be disciples of as well. These brazen attempts to communalise and divide the society have no precedent in Indian history and in fact is desecrating the 'glorious past' in the name of upholding and preserving it.

PADS appeals to all sections of the society to take note of this serious perversion of the democratic rights of the people of this country and rise as one to defeat these attempts to divide and polarise the society.
