Atop the Stanserhorn in the Swiss Alps

Picture of the Day: Atop the Stanserhorn in the Swiss Alps

Matthew Szwedowski shows us the breathtaking landscape of the Swiss Alps with this stunning view from the top of Stanserhorn. Located in the canton of Nidwalden (near to the border with Obwalden) with a peak of 1,898 metres (6,227 ft) above sea level, Stanserhorn is a popular tourist destination and can be reached from the adjacent town of Stans by a funicular railway and cable car, or via walking routes from Stans or Dallenwil.
